Our Couple 
Rakesh is an Indian young man living in Kolkata. Marie-Laure, whose nickname is Malo, is a French girl living in Paris. She really likes India and she’s been travelling there very often since she was 18. In January 2016, Malo met Rakesh, who was her guide in the jungle of Sundarban, while she was doing a backpack trip. Rakesh I deeply attached to his country, especially its wild nature and villages. Rakesh and Malo fell in love since the day they met, they now live in Paris. They spend a big part of the year in India for their Indian family and for their project. 

Our Project
“Rakesh & Malo” brand is all about hand made products, mainly dedicated to home decoration (cushion or bed covers, table cloths, carpets…) and fashion accessories also (scarves, jewels, kaftans…)  . We travel several times a year throughout India to meet the artisans and discover their work. Every state of india, every region and every village have their specific reknown, whether it is printing “hand block” fabrics, waving carpets, or creating different types of jewels… By buying a “Rakesh & Malo” product, you directly help the local craft traditions to survive, and you also intend a little good deed for Indian orphans from Kolkata. Indeed, we give 10% of all our benefits to associations taking care of them. 

Our Dream
We truly love India, its culture, its history, and most of all The Indians. We want to do something great for the weakest of them while we are on earth. Our goal is to earn enough in order restore one of the multiple abandoned palaces in Kolkata and turn it into a colourful and welcoming house for street children.
